About us
The Water-Dragons swimming club is run and administered by Jean Davies.
The club currently spans two pools, both in Cardiff. The first is located at Howell’s school Llandaff and is run Saturday mornings, 10:15am to 11:45am. The second is located at Fitzalan school pool, just off Leckwith Rd. Sessions run from 5.30pm until 7.00pm on Friday evenings.
Water-Dragons swimming club caters to all levels of swimming ability. We are a friendly non competitive club, dedicated to teaching a high standard in all areas, including; swimming strokes, survival, water safety and R.L.S.S. techniques up to Bronze medallion standard. These are helpful for gaining points towards G.C.S.E and the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
We follow the Amateur Swimming Association (A.S.A.) “National plan for teaching and coaching”. All of our teachers are level two qualified and hold R.L.S.S. rescue and first aid qualifications.
Our club focuses on ages 5 through 16, from beginner to advanced abilities. Basic diving, starts, turns and laws of the sport are taught with the aim to help pupils prepare for the future, when they may wish to join a competitive swimming club.
There is a limited capability at both pools for one on one private tuition with any of our teachers.
If you would like your children to learn to swim or improve their technique, please call (029) 20253784, we look forward to hearing from you!
We wish you all the very best and look forward to seeing you at the pools!
Jean and the teaching staff of the Water-Dragons swimming club.
